What’s the difficulty in trading with China? (go back »)

Have you encountered the situation that no inquiry at all after posting your purchasing or selling information on lots of international or Chinese B2B platforms? Or you couldn’t receive any info from your China counterparts after several rounds of discussions. China definitely is a huge market for importing and exporting goods. However, language, culture and lacking of information are still barriers for further cooperation if you are eager to purchase or sell the goods/services to China.

Here is a little story to share with you. We received an e-mail asking whether we can provide any legal assistance in China. He had a supplier in China that accepted his deposit to supply garments, but they didn't supply the goods to him and ignore his phone calls and e-mails. When we contact the supplier, it turned out that the manufacturer’s translator had some personal affair and was on leave for the last week. No other staff knows English in their company nor could check his email. Finally, we help them with the coordination, transportation, customs clearance and transportation agency.

From this small example, you can see the importance of communication. There might be several ways to solve this problem. What I would like to share is that seeking an agency or local partner to provide you support. They can help you translate and post your information to Chinese B2B platform, contact potential supplier or buyer and arrange negotiation, logistics and customs clearance. In addition, if you are willing to sell your goods directly to Chinese consumers, creating a Chinese online store can be an option too.

What’s your opinion on this topic? Or do you have any other suggestion or story? Please share with us or contact me directly via ricky@co-soft.net.
